F.A.Q for Campers


What type of accommodation will I be staying in at HCS?

You will stay in a traditional Swiss chalet in Ovronnaz, in one of the quarter rooms.

Is there a bathroom in the room?

All rooms offered by HCS have a bathroom with toilet and shower.

Who will I be sharing with?

We try to put students together with different nationalities but with similar ages if there is no other special request before the camp starts.

You may express your wishes which we will discuss with your parents to decide if it’s the best option for you.

There are 4 campers per room.

Do I have to clean my room on my own when I leave?

The rooms will be cleaned every week by the housekeeping department. Towels and bed linen will be changed. You should keep your room tidy throughout your stay and also when you leave.

Can I lock the door to my room?

The rooms are normally unlocked and you do not automatically receive room keys during your stay.

Is there a safe in my room where I can keep my pocket money and my valuables?

No there are no safes in the rooms. Pocket money, ID’s and valuables may be handed to the ILC Director on arrival day. These items will be accessible at given times/days during the week.

Can I use the Internet? Do I have Internet access in my room?

We have free internet areas available. If you take your own laptop with you, you will be able to access the internet in most parts of the camp.

Do I have to bring my own towel and blankets?

Towels and bed linen are available in all rooms. However, you should bring your own towel for the swimming pool / lake.



I have special diet requests. Is it a problem?

We can organize special menus (vegetarian, gluten-free etc). We just need to be advised in advance.

What meals are included in the camp price?

HCS offers full-board – this includes breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner.

I need a visa for my stay in Switzerland. Do you offer a Visa service?

Please note that you have to apply directly for your Visa in your own country. We can send you a letter of invitation and a confirmation of enrollment for your visa request.


Language Classes

What is the average number of students per class?

To offer personal attention to each student, we have classes of approximately of 8 students.

Can I change class if the level is not appropriate?

Yes, if necessary, you can change class after talking with your teacher.
